Mr Greenwald,

Firstly, and most importantly, I wish to honor yourself,
Laura and Edward for the courage and integrity that you
have all shown.  The service to society is immense and
timely.

Secondly, I have an optional challenge for you, but 
its going to take a few paragraphs to get there.  

I am a techie (sysadmin). I have been following the NSA story 
very closely, both in the media and political sphere, and
the tech space where J Appelbaum has been throwing hang
grenades (30C3 etc.).  I include him with people like
J Assange, M Marlinspike, I Goldberg, P Zimmerman
(and many other cypherpunks) as heros.

Another hero is L Lessig.  He emerged from his grieving over
the suicide of A Schwartz to lead an attack on what 
he (and I agree with him) is *the* root of the corruption
in US politics/administration: the revolving door between 
corporations and government, and the members of government spending
inordinate amounts of time hunting the funding required
for their next campaign (and thus attending to policies
influenced by the funders).

He, like you, is acting on principle, for the public good,
and doing so in a manner that has a practical possibility
of change for the public good.

My challenge is to do what L Lessig is: attack the root
cause of the problem.  The problem with the military
intelligence communities, lead by the NSA, is directly
related to what Lessig is attacking.  But the root *event*
was 9/11.  The official explanation is plainly obvious
as bullshit.  The 3 (three) buildings in Manhattan were demolished.

This is not an award winning publication.  It is
divisive and nasty, but the truth is buried by the
established media and needs to be exposed.  
"Truth and reconsiliation".

what you have done. (And you have given me justification to
teach my community about encryption and other privacy
